Capiz shell comes from the windowpane oyster, found in coastal waters near the Philippines and India. These candle holders are handmade in the Philippines, where the shells are carefully shaped and assembled into the graceful lotus flower design.

The lotus flower symbolises transformation and awakening, representing the journey from darkness into light and from innocence toward insight and wisdom. In many traditions the lotus is also connected with the seven main energy centres of the body (chakras). The blue lotus is associated with the Throat Chakra, which relates to communication, expression and clarity.
